Press Release Summary: Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International, a leading provider of full-time private tutors, comments upon the number of SATS preparation enquiries received by the tutoring agency and warns parents that recruiting private tutors to help with exam cramming is not beneficial to their child's long-term education.
Press Release Body: Tutors International announces an increase in requests for private tutors to help students prepare for the controversial SATs. Adam Caller, Founder of Tutors International, said "The parents who have contacted us are very worried about their child's performance and want a private tutor to help with what is effectively exam cramming for the SATs. Regardless of the fact that our private tutor sourcing service isn't about this kind of last minute private tuition provision, I feel it is important to alert parents to the fact that additional help for their children in the months leading up to critical exam times is not the best for their child's education in the long term." When asked why he would turn away enquiries of this nature for private tutors, Adam explained "Tutors International specialises in sourcing private teachers that become full-time live-in tutors, usually on a mid to long-term basis. Our private tutors are highly trained and as such can be responsible for the entirety of a child's education, not just extra hours after school each day for a few months before SATs time."
Adam went on to say, "I'm really saddened by the effect that the pressure to achieve good results in the SATs is having on children," Adam continued. "I feel that this pressure is taking the richness out of school education and sacrificing the nurturing of thinking and reasoning skills for intensive rote learning of facts. Hiring a private tutor for extra short-term intense exam preparation only reinforces that." Adam concluded; "At Tutors International we believe in providing sustained education of the highest quality and that is why we don't provide private tutors purely for last minute exam preparation."
